This test case shows an example of a carbon flash within a neutron star envelope.

  • Part 1 (inlist_to_c_flash) first loads a prebuilt neutron star envelope model ns_c_env.mod, see the make_env test case. Carbon is then accreted at a rate of 1.7e-9 Msun/year until a carbon runaway at the base of the neutron star envelope reaches an integrated power of 1e6 Lsun:
